How to do D-I-Y Videos for the Internet

Write a script. Use bullet points to extrapolate from instead of literal reading. Put your points on a whiteboard/slate board. Place your computer just off or behind lens to minimize having an “off camera” look.

For the script, use a double-column script. Write what you want on your video in the lefthand column of the script. Write what you want with respect to audio (music, noise, whatever) in the righthand column. Memorize your lines. Rehearse them on camera. FYI, you will never get it “perfect.” Do the best job you can. You can always edit your video.

Make sure the lighting and sound are as good as you can possibly make them and you’re on your way!
