  • Screenwriting Font

Producers, agents, directors, actors, production companies, etc. read
many scripts throughout their careers in the film business. The screenwriter’s
attitude should be to make reading their scripts as easy as possible. Actually,
they should strive to make their screenplays lightning fast to read. That means
more white on each page than black. This means that the font should be
unobtrusive, clear and 12 pt. There has been speculation for years about
using the New Courier font in lieu of the Courier font. Each experience I have
had, Courier always wins out because of its size and clarity, bar none. I’ve
been using it for 30 years without any complaints.

  • Love In The Right Place

    “For Valentine’s Day”

Give me your hand. I want to hold your hand. It will tell me how deeply I love you. This abyss, depth of love I have for you is a combination of love and hate. You know, like we hug and kiss and in the next minute we are throwing hatchets at each other. Why is that? Well, I can only speak for myself. You occupy a space where I beg to be. Therefore, when we disagree, fear strikes me that I will never get into that space. Does it you?

Well, listen, I have to take my Prius to Toyota. This is the third time it has been recalled in the past 3 years. A bit annoying, so I hope you don’t use that against me next time.

Take care. And hey, I love you.

-I Just Wanted to Tell You That I Loved You

You know, there was this special little place where I hid.
It had doors and windows and the smell of lavender.
The smell always brought me to you.
You know, you, the woman I love.
How can I feel anything else but love for you?
    How?
That’s why I hid in this special little place.
To hide my love for you.
Then, I told you I loved you.
I told you I wanted to hold you in my arms.
I told you I wanted to feel your warmth next to me.
I told you I wanted to stroke your hair and kiss your lips.
I told you I wanted to be with you.
I know that’s heavy stuff, but I had to tell you.
I see now that you have your own hiding place
    and
it has nothing to do with me.
